Job Description
For our international portfolio company FIAMM Energy Technology we are looking for a
Senior Lean and Continuous Improvement Engineer (m/f/d)
This role is ideal for experienced operations, CI or automation specialists who want to broaden their scope across the full value stream as a lateral step toward a future Plant Manager position.
FIAMM Energy Technology is a multinational manufacturer of automotive starter and industrial batteries, with key production sites in Avezzano and Veronella. Both plants are on a journey to upgrade to state-of-the-art manufacturing operations, improving OEE, labor productivity, quality, material efficiency and end-to-end flow.
Your Impact
- Further develop and update the 3–5-year manufacturing excellence roadmap for Avezzano and Veronella.
- Lead key improvement initiatives across the value stream (from pasting and curing to assembly, charging/finishing and logistics) with a focus on:
- OEE and throughput
- Labor productivity and line staffing
- Scrap and quality losses
- Material efficiency and design-to-cost
- Implement and standardize Lean / CI methods (VSM, SMED, 5S, standard work, visual management, problem solving) and contribute to manufacturing excellence standards and audits.
- Help teams frame clear problem statements and business cases for key initiatives, ensuring focus on value creation and sustainable results.
- Shape and deliver the automation roadmap (robots/cobots, visual control systems, intralogistics and digital performance tools).
- Strengthen maintenance excellence (PM/AM, reduced downtime, better asset utilization).
- Coach plant leadership and teams, and help build a strong continuous improvement culture on the shop floor, capturing and sharing best practices between plants where relevant.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Engineering or Industrial Management.
- 7–12+ years in manufacturing operations, CI/OpEx and/or industrial automation in high-volume environments (e.g. automotive, batteries, components, process industries).
- Proven track record of end-to-end improvement projects with measurable impact on cost, OEE, scrap and labor.
- Practical experience with Lean/CI and performance management (tier meetings, KPIs, OEE dashboards).
- Exposure to automation and controls (PLC/robot-based lines, cobots, vision systems or intralogistics solutions).
- Strong influencing, communication and change skills; comfortable working from the Gemba with operators, technicians and managers.
- Fluency in Italian and good command of English.
What We Offer
- A central expert role with direct access to the COO and plant leadership.
- The chance to shape how two key FIAMM plants evolve to state-of-the-art operations.
- A natural springboard into future Plant Manager or multi-site Operations roles within FIAMM.
