The Role
The Assistant Manager, Middle Office plays a key role in supporting daily operations across CLO and Credit TRS portfolios. This position is responsible for trade lifecycle management, portfolio administration, and client service activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong risk and control execution.
The role operates in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and requires independent ownership of tasks, along with collaboration across Front Office and internal stakeholders. You will also support the Manager with day-to-day operations, process improvements, and projects, and may provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Independently manage and oversee assigned CLO and Credit TRS portfolios, ensuring timely execution of activities within tight deadlines
- Perform end-to-end trade lifecycle management, including trade control and client service support across CLO and TRS products
- Maintain CLO deals, including daily borrowings, prepayments, accruals, and quarterly settlements
- Track and maintain compliance and financial reporting requirements in line with credit agreements
- Partner closely with Front Office and Corporate Lending Services teams to resolve issues and support business needs
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and drive efficiencies across the Middle Office
- Support process improvement initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and implementation
- Resolve complex operational issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks (including operational risk, AML/ATF, and conduct risk)

Core Experience (Must-Have)
- Experience in middle office, loan operations, corporate lending operations, structured credit operations, or derivatives operations
- Understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle management (trade capture, validation, settlement, reconciliation)
- Hands-on exposure to structured credit products, including CLOs, TRS, or fixed income derivatives
- Experience supporting operational processes such as settlements, confirmations, reconciliations, or portfolio servicing
Product & Functional Knowledge
- Understanding of lending/loan lifecycle processes (borrowings, prepayments, accruals, settlements)
- Exposure to credit agreements, compliance tracking, or financial reporting within lending or credit portfolios
- Experience working with Front Office or lending/trading teams on trade or portfolio-related activities
Systems & Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with Murex, Wallstreet, Summit, or similar trading/operations platforms
- Exposure to PIK (Payment-in-Kind) structures or structured lending products
- Familiarity with Axiam/Axsin or comparable internal/vendor systems
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, Access, or VBA is an asset
