
Building Services Coordinator
Job Description
This position is responsible for supervising staff, including inmates, by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, training employees and inmates, and enforcing compliance with policies and procedures. The role also includes recommending hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations. In addition, the position provides recommendations for inmate transfers. Responsibilities also include.
Essential Duties
- Inspecting the outlying buildings for safety concerns, cleanliness, and overall comfort, addressing and repairing identified issues, and relocating, redefining, or expanding office space.
- Coordinating with vendors and subcontractors by outlining project requirements, scheduling material deliveries, and ensuring compliance with established standards and expectations.
- Overseeing facility setup and preparation for meetings, events, and special functions, including arranging equipment, seating, and tables.
- Maintaining accountability of tools and equipment by ensuring proper maintenance, tracking inventory, and issuing receipts during personnel and inmate check-out processes.
- Conducting routine inspections to ensure facility grounds are properly maintained, clean, and groomed.
- Performing walk-through inspections and spot checks of building systems, equipment, and mechanical rooms to identify and address operational concerns.
- Assisting with budget planning by providing recommendations and monitoring spending related to facility operations and maintenance needs.
- Supporting maintenance operations by purchasing necessary materials, supplies, and equipment, coordinating with departments to determine project requirements, providing documentation for pricing, procurement, and installation processes, and conducting walk-through inspections to ensure project completion and compliance.
- Ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are maintained through regular coordination, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
- Public safety background investigation which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting.
- May require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
The grade for this position is B231. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school Diploma or G.E.D. AND
- Three years of directly related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Valid driver's license from state of residency
- CPR certificate
- First Aid certificate
- State Inmate Supervisor certificate
