Job Description
🚨 Machine Learning Engineer in NYC! 🚨
Our client is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer in NYC!
Since launching just four weeks ago, their app has surpassed 150,000 downloads and is already driving tens of thousands of dollars in daily monetized GMV. Backed by top-tier investors like Kleiner Perkins, they’re building the first end-to-end AI shopping assistant—one that connects 150+ secondhand and retail partners to help users find the best price and make smarter, faster shopping decisions.
They’re looking for kindred builders: engineers who move fast, think deeply, and want to ship products that actually matter. If you thrive on rapid iteration (think: build on Monday, hard launch Tuesday), love working alongside a top-tier product and design team, and are energized by real user feedback, this is your crew.
👷♀️ What You'll Do:
- Architect large-scale systems to ingest data from 60+ resale partners (hundreds of millions of products/day).
- Build end-to-end ML pipelines (training, serving, optimizing).
- Develop and fine-tune recommendation and search ranking models.
- Ship AI features from concept to production, fast.
- Collaborate closely with frontend, product, and design to build a magical UX.
- Champion engineering excellence, own major backend and infra decisions.
🧠 What They're Looking For:
- Experience building and shipping ML systems users love (especially in PyTorch).
- 2+ years of experience with Python, Node.js, GraphQL, Prisma, gRPC, and/or Protobuf.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
- Fullstack flexibility or willingness to dive across the stack.
- Bonus points: browser extension experience, startup hustle, side projects, and shipping speed.
📍 Location & Perks:
This is an NYC-based, in-person team with an office in Union Square. They offer exciting perks like hackathons in Montana and California, a stocked Celsius fridge, and real ownership on a tiny, world-class team with alumni from Pinterest, Honey, Microsoft, and Amazon.
