Job Description
The Senior Analyst - Due Diligence for Alternative Investments will play a pivotal role within the Ameriprise Investment Research Group. This position is responsible for leading the comprehensive investment due diligence process for hedge funds, private credit, private equity, private real estate, and other alternative investment offerings. The Senior Analyst will be engaged in all aspects of investment sourcing and analysis, maintaining oversight of existing platform investments, and preparing detailed reports and presentations for the Investment Committee. Additionally, this role requires close collaboration with various internal groups to ensure a cohesive and strategic approach to investment management.This position and team structure offers the advantage of a generalist approach. Key Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate new investment opportunities through ongoing engagement with a wide range of alternative asset managers
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including detailed analysis of RFIs, offering documents, manager meetings, onsite visits, and industry research
- Prepare and deliver investment recommendations and manager evaluations to internal stakeholders and investment committees
- Monitor existing investments through regular manager dialogue, performance analysis, and risk assessment; provide actionable recommendations
- Serve as a subject matter expert on alternative investments for internal partners and financial advisors
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in investment research, due diligence, or alternative investments
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), preferably in Finance, Economics, Investments, or related field
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage work independently and prioritize effectively
- Active Series 7 license or ability to obtain within 120 days
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of alternative investment strategies and structures
- Prior experience conducting research on private markets (private equity, private credit, real assets)
- High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and intellectual curiosity
- Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex investment concepts
- CFA and/or CAIA designation, or an interest in pursuing one

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $114,500- $157,400/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
