About This Role
The Procurement Specialist II plays a key role in supporting Veranex’s medical device and healthcare programs by managing end-to-end purchasing activities with minimal supervision. This position partners closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management teams to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional who is comfortable operating independently, negotiating with suppliers, and supporting regulated manufacturing environments.
What You’ll Do
Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase order creation, tracking, expediting, and supplier follow-up
Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers and OEM manufacturers
Source, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers to meet operational and business needs
Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and quality expectations are met
Coordinate material availability to support production schedules and customer demand
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation in compliance with FDA, ISO, and internal requirements
Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Program teams to support supplier selection and procurement priorities
Communicate supplier status, risks, lead times, and constraints to internal stakeholders
Support cost reduction, continuous improvement, and inventory optimization initiatives
Analyze purchasing trends, supplier performance metrics, and spend data to inform sourcing strategies
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
2–4 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a regulated industry
Strong working knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation
Experience supporting FDA- and/or ISO-regulated environments with high attention to documentation and compliance
Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and solve moderate to complex problems
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools
Preferred
Experience supporting technical or engineering-driven procurement activities
Familiarity with global supply chains and international suppliers
Experience with cost reduction initiatives and supplier performance management
Knowledge of inventory management and production planning concepts
Previous experience in medical device, healthcare, or life sciences environments
