
Medical Records Assistant, Full Time, Days, AMG Multispecialty, Cedar Knolls, NJ
Job Description
Responsible for chart assembly, analysis, coding, and computer abstracting of patient medical records. Scans inpatient and outpatient records, ensuring accurate indexing, quality review, proper patient ID labeling, and legible, complete documentation.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Scans by rounding the inpatient units with scanners on wheels daily times.
- Scanning done in HIM of all outpatient documentation.
- Indexes, performs quality review and Archives.
- Preps medical records from all services with a high degree of detail and accuracy.
- Ensures every page contains a pt ID label and both sides are scanned if needed.
- Ensures the scanning quality is legible and easily readable for all services.
- Other projects as assigned
Required:
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1-year related experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel essential
- Work in a timely manner, be accurate and detail - oriented
- Needs to be able to work in a team.
