Job Description:

Position Purpose:

The Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the execution, optimization, and reporting of The Salvation Army’s national digital marketing efforts. This role contributes to engaging online experiences across social media, email marketing, and web platforms, helping to strengthen brand presence, grow audiences, and support campaigns, events, and fundraising initiatives. Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing & Communications team, the Coordinator ensures digital content and platforms are well-managed, compliant, data-informed, and aligned with organizational objectives and mission.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee social media content scheduling and actively support online community engagement across platforms.

  • Support the development of digital content (written, photo, and video) and assist with performance tracking and reporting under the direction of the Manager.

  • Manage email marketing setup, scheduling, and reporting using established platforms and best practices.

  • Assist with website content updates, including CMS editing and on-site SEO improvements.

  • Support maintenance, compliance, analytics, and continuous improvement across national digital platforms (website, social media, email marketing, etc.).

  • Provide administrative support for planning, execution, and reporting of paid digital media campaigns supporting events, promotions, and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with members of the Marketing and Communications team on day-to-day digital projects and initiatives.

  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and digital trend research to inform recommendations and execution.

  • Support online data collection and analysis to measure effectiveness and optimize digital performance.

  • Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and output of digital marketing activities.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 2–3 year college diploma in Digital Marketing or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in digital marketing, social media, or online communications; non-profit experience is considered an asset.

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, including content creation and KPI measurement.

  • Demonstrated storytelling ability using a range of digital marketing tactics and channels.

  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Office, WordPress, Sprout Social, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital platforms, tools, and technologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong command of the English language.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused, with a positive and collaborative approach.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Working environment is primarily remote

  • 2-3 days per month of travel around GTA for photo and video content development required, subject to business needs

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $50,897.60 to $63,627.20 with a maximum of $76,356.80.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
