We’re now looking for an R&D Development Technologist to join our Sweet Treats team, helping to bring new, exciting and increasingly healthier cake innovations to life.

What you'll be doing?
As a Development Technologist, you’ll be involved in the full product lifecycle – from concept through to launch, gaining hands-on experience across both development and manufacturing environments.
You’ll:
- Support the delivery of innovation projects for the Mr Kipling range
- Develop new products and improve existing recipes and processes
- Work hands-on in the test bakery, trialling and refining product concepts
- Scale up products onto factory equipment, learning how products perform at production level
- Build knowledge of ingredients and their functionality in cake products
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to bring products to market
What we need from you?
We’re looking for someone who is passionate, curious and ready to build their career in food innovation.
- Degree (BSc/HNC/BTEC) in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field
- A genuine passion for food and product creation
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with resilience and determination
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility to work across office, development kitchen and production environments
- 1–2 years’ experience in a product development role (graduates also encouraged to apply)
