Blue Mountain Construction Services in Vacaville, CA has an Immediate opening for an Experienced Superintendent. 
 
 
JOB SUMMARY
The Superintendent is responsible for the management of the Land Development, Home Construction, and Warranty on a specific project, or projects they are assigned. The Superintendent is responsible for all expenditures, job reporting, training and direct supervision of all employees, subcontractors, and suppliers assigned to or related to the project(s) they are assigned to supervise.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
 
  • Oversee and follow schedule all construction related activities on assigned projects.
  • Execute the permit process within the governing municipalities.
  • Procure Material in the most efficient and economic manner
  • Deliver projects within the desired and stated time frames set by their direct supervisor.
  • Manage the completion of the Home Owner items in a timely manner.
  • Manage all relationships with the customers to maintain a professional and successful relationship.
  • Direct the field staff and subcontractors to properly build and produce scope of work on each project.
  • Direct the field staff and Subcontractors to maintain the project in presentable condition and within acceptable
  • standards set by the company.
  • Handle issues brought up in the field.
  • Thoroughly understand, be able to interpret and critique, improve through suggestion and articulate the information contained on the Architectural and Structural Engineering Plans.
  • Manage the installation of the correct, company specified, products in the homes built under their supervision.
  • Thoroughly understand construction actives relating to Construction.
  • Assist in the formation, performance and instruction of the policies, procedures, and philosophies, reports and paperwork required by the company.
  • Assist the Vice President and Project Managers as needed.
  • Regarding local, state, and national Building Codes and Statutes: maintain a thorough and up to date understanding of, the ability to interpret and articulate, and assure the homes constructed fully conform to those codes and statutes.
  • Safeguard all areas under company control from hazardous situations and materials acting as with full responsibility for the safety of Field Personnel under their supervision.
  • Secure the Companies property and protect it from theft, vandalism, and damage.
  • Procure, analyze, understand and articulate to company personnel and customers the manufacturer’s recommendations of the use, application, safety precautions, maintenance, and warranty.
  • Provide technical direction to field personnel and subcontractors through training, direction and supervision.
  • Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and motivation of field worker and provide them the opportunity to advance in their career.
  • Assist in the hiring, teaching, training and motivation of Subcontractors and consultant to ensure their successful performance.
  • Understand and follow corporate personnel procedures as they relate to all governing Federal and State laws and statutes.
  • Anticipate, monitor and resolve subcontractor conflicts before they escalate.
  • Assist in the set-up maintenance and proper organization of their Construction field office.
  • Budget, manage and control all direct and indirect expenditures as they pertain to projects under their supervision.
  • Must manage Field and staff personnel to achieve company objectives including but not limited to the timely delivery of quality products within the budgetary constraints set by the Construction Manager and Division Manager.
  • Maintain daily schedules for all construction activities
  • Control Construction, Warranty and Purchasing related paperwork and reports
  • Must possess the ability to recognize, analyze and solve problematic situations
  • Must possess and utilize excellent time management skills and be able to handle multiple -tasks concurrently.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities Under the Direction of the Construction Manager:
  • Full Supervisory responsibility for all Construction, Warranty personnel at projects under their supervision
  • Direct responsibility for the supervision of the subcontractors and suppliers contracted by the company at projects under their supervision
  • Must be able to perform construction and business-related math calculations including some geometry
  • Must be able to apply deductive reasoning to problematic situations.
  • Must be able to communicate, orally and in written form, desired objectives to: Subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors, subordinates, consultants, coworkers, customers, and other business-related professionals.

Supervising, scheduling, assigning, monitoring and evaluating work of assigned staff are responsibilities for supervisory positions.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 
  • High School Diploma a plus
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in the residential construction industry
  • Have basic ability to speak, read and write English. Spanish in addition to English is a plus
  • Perform basic electronic communications such as text and email
  • Document through legible photos
  • Ability to maintain:  1) reliable and safe transportation to other BMCS jobsites 2) valid California driver’s license, 3) proper vehicle registration, and 4) California’s minimum automobile insurance coverage requirement.  If not requirement of job, delete
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Must be able to negotiate the typical conditions of a construction site under all weather conditions
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Work Outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must Work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
  • Work near Hazardous chemicals, dust, dirt, and other particulates.
  • Required mobility to and from office and jobsite.
  • Required mobility around construction site.
  • Office and personal facilities provided at the job site that are usual and customary in the industry.

Pay Transparency:
This job posting may span more than one career level.
 
In addition to base salary, this job may be eligible to participate in our corporate discretionary bonus program, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all California based jobs. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar industry companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
 
The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000.

Pay Range: $43.26 - $52.88 per hour
