Business Analyst (SWIFT/SEPA)

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll act as the bridge between business and technology, turning complex business needs into smart, scalable solutions. You’ll be involved end-to-end - from discovery to deployment - helping deliver core banking and payments transformation projects across global teams.

Main Responsibilities:

• Partner with stakeholders to capture, challenge, and refine business requirements
• Translate needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and use cases
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to drive solution design
• Collaborate closely with tech teams to ensure accurate implementation
• Support delivery across the full lifecycle: analysis → design → testing → go-live
• Contribute to test strategy, execution (UAT), and defect resolution
• Advise clients on process improvements and optimization opportunities
• Act as a key point of contact between business, IT, and project teams

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ experience in Business Analysis within banking or financial services
• Strong expertise in Payments (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA or similar)
• Solid understanding of back-office/middle-office operations
• Technical awareness (SQL, APIs, legacy systems like COBOL is a plus)
• Proven ability to lead discussions, drive workshops, and influence stakeholders
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-driven mindset
• Proficiency in English

Nice to have

• Experience within private banking environments
• Exposure to core banking platforms and transformation projects

(Hybrid work, with 2/3 days of work in the office in LISBON per week)
