Your Impact
- Deliver technical services in both field and office environments to support geotechnical and construction materials projects.
- Perform field Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) testing on soils, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt.
- Conduct soil and asphalt compaction testing to verify compliance with project and industry standards.
- Carry out subgrade, footing, and construction site inspections and observations.
- Collect, document, and analyze field samples, providing accurate and timely results that inform critical project decisions.
- Maintain, calibrate, and care for testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Champion health, safety, and quality by adhering to WSP’s field and laboratory Health & Safety programs.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, preferably with a focus on geotechnical engineering.
- 1–2 years of experience working as a geotechnical or construction materials technician.
- Eligibility for, or registration with, OACETT is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with civil construction practices and testing standards (CSA, ASTM, CCIL).
- Ability to work independently in field and laboratory environments while collaborating with supervisors and project teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with contractors and colleagues.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and committed to strict safety protocols.
- Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage.

Compensation
MB & ON: $22.00 – $30.00
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $21.00 – $28.00
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
