Job Description
PURPOSE:
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for providing planning and scheduling for all production units, crude oil, raw materials, distillates, etc to produce finished products to meet customer needs. This role that interfaces with many on-site functions (Operations, Loading, Lab, Distribution, Pipeline, etc) and off-site functions (Sales, Customer Service, Demand Management, etc). This is a complex and critical role that has significant impact on site and business unit profitability. This role reports directly to the Distribution and Planning Manager.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages crude oil inventories
Manages incoming crude oil inventories of 3 different grades which arrive via railcars, trucks and pipeline shipments.
Inventory Management
Reconciles actual versus SAP inventories daily.
End of month cycle count reconciliations
Crude Unit Production Planning and Block Schedules
Determines rates and grade by reviewing distillate inventories, crude inventories, in-transit crude oil deliveries.
Coordinates with Operations, Demand Planner.
Base Oil (Hydrocal) Production Planning and Block Schedules
Creates and updates daily the Hydrocal Production Schedule by reviewing sales/customer needs, finished product inventories, available storage tanks, distillate inventories, production KPI’s, production rates.
Coordinate the plan/schedule with Operations, Demand Planner, Sales and Customer Service.
Princeton Feedstock
Manages, coordinates and schedules Princeton Feedstock inventories and shipments to the Shreveport refinery.
Sales and Operations Planning
Provide input for monthly S&OP Meetings, weekly Sales Coordination Calls, weekly Production Planning meetings.
Provides 30, 60, 90 day forecasts for monthly S&OP.
Communicates product shortfalls and long inventories with Demand Manager and Sales proactively.
ATP Process
Inputs production forecasts and data into SAP to allow ATP to be utilized by Customer Service to make customer shipment date commitments.
Finished Product Blend Production Planning
Creates blend formulations and recipes for Loader instructions to meet customer quality requirements.
Creates blend orders in SAP
Develops strategies and plans for the efficient and profitable use of wash oils in product blends.
Daily creates and issues the Priority Sheet (Daily instructions for loading area production blending, loading of product railcars, trucks, lab activities and tank farm management).
Shipping Functions
Ship confirms railcars
Creates product batch numbers for orders and quality data
Manages railcar fleets of incoming crude oil, and empty lube oil railcars.
Creates the Railcar Switch List which provides instructions for Loaders and railroad.
Back-up Activities
Truck shipments
Unit scheduling for Clay Unit, Final Distillation Unit, Asphalt Oxidizer based sales requirements.
Additional duties as assigned by the Distribution & Planning Manager
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Production Planning or equivalent experience in a production planning/schedule role
Proficient in SAP MRP System required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
