Purpose of the role:
This role is a financial professional responsible for preparing and processing HKMA Granular Data Reporting (GDR), managing fixed assets & lease accounting, and oversee valuation for non-market traded instruments. This role focuses on accurate data preparation, timely reporting, and operational support, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, while driving data quality, process efficiency, and continuous improvement.
What you will be doing:
Granular Data Reporting (GDR): Prepare, validate, and submit HKMA GDR in accordance with regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Perform reconciliation, variance analysis, and issue resolution in collaborating with relevant stakeholders. Support regulatory changes, reporting enhancements, audits, and system implementation, data governance, and process improvements. Support the upcoming implementation of the GDR 3.0 initiative.
Manage Fixed Asset and Lease Accounting Systems and Processes: Prepare and process end-to-end fixed asset and lease accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, retirements, and adjustments, in compliance with bank policies and procedures.
Property and Non-Market Traded Instruments Valuation and Revaluation: Collaborate valuation and revaluation of fixed assets and non-market traded instruments in accordance with accounting standards and relevant valuation model.
Month-End Close Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing, reconciliations and reporting related to fixed assets and leases are processed accurately and on time.
Controls and Compliance: Establish and enforce internal controls and procedures to uphold the integrity and security of operations.
Process Improvement and Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency through automation, technology adoption, and best practices.
Participation in Ad Hoc Assignments: Engage in Ad hoc assignments and other projects as assigned by supervisors or management
Who are we looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting with a focus on fixed assets or GDR, preferably in banking industry
Professional qualifications in HKICPA or equivalent qualifications would be an advantage
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
Careful and Circumspect.
