
Aviation Line Service Technician I
Job Description
The Aviation Line Service Technician I performs aircraft fueling, servicing, ground handling, and airfield support duties to ensure safe and efficient airport operations. Responsibilities include fueling, marshalling, towing and parking aircraft, conducting safety inspections, maintaining airfield areas, and providing service to pilots and customers in compliance with aviation standards and procedures. This position works under close to general supervision and follows established procedures and safety guidelines while exercising judgment in completing assigned tasks.
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Fuel aircraft in accordance with safety standards; operate and maintain fueling equipment, perform inspections, conduct fuel testing, ensure proper fuel receipt and documentation, and complete required fee collection.
- Marshal, park, tow, and reposition aircraft on ramps and taxiways, ensuring safe and proper placement in designated areas.
- Conduct safety inspections of ramp, hangar, and airfield areas; assist with hangar inspections and report any hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain airfield grounds and surrounding areas, including mowing, edging, and minor trimming along sidewalks, fences, and operational areas to ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment.
- Monitor airfield conditions for debris and hazards; maintain debris-free operational areas and report safety or operational issues promptly.
- Clean and maintain airport facilities, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe and orderly operations.
- Submit and track maintenance requests as needed; assist in file maintenance and ensure accurate recordkeeping of inspections, services, and operational activities.
- Assist pilots, crews, tenants, and customers with ramp services; support aircraft arrivals and departures while delivering a high level of customer service.
- Assist in creating, monitoring, and maintaining daily customer service standards to ensure consistent, professional interactions with all airport users.
- Follow airport, FAA, and industry safety standards, use required PPE and ensure all fueling and ramp operations comply with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with emergency response.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Over one month and up to and including three months of related experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
