What you will be doing:
Job Summary / Purpose
We are seeking a Financial Insights & Analytics Manager whose primary focus is making financial data easier to access, understand, and act on across the organization. Success in this role means building the tools, reporting infrastructure, and automated analytics capabilities that empower business leaders to get answers on their support and contribute to, and delivering analysis in forms that are repeatable, scalable, and accessible. In this high impact role, you'll translate financial data into meaningful insights on business performance, drive an AI-enabled analytics strategy, and ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. The ideal candidate is passionate about financial storytelling, excited by emerging analytics technology, and gets focused by the opportunity to shape how the organization understands and acts on its financial data.
Who you will work with:
This role works closely with business leaders across the organization, Finance and Accounting teams, and technology stakeholders. The Manager reports to the Director, FP&A and collaborates cross-functionally to embed analytics capabilities into how the organization makes decisions.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Financial Performance Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver regular reporting on financial performance including KPIs, ARR, business cash flow, and revenue trends, ensuring business leaders have timely, accurate visibility into results.
- Enable automated variance analysis and financial commentary that clearly communicates what is driving results and what requires attention.
- Build and maintain reporting frameworks that make it easy to track performance against plan, forecast, and prior periods.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis needs from business leaders with well structured, insight driven outputs.
Enhancing Data Transparency & Enabling Analysis
- Identify and remove friction points that prevent stakeholders from independently accessing and interpreting financial data.
- Develop and maintain standardized data definitions, reporting templates, and documentation that create a shared language around financial metrics.
- Build self-service analytics capabilities that shift the organization from ad hoc data requests to empowered, independent analysis.
- Champion data consistency and trust in financial information across reporting platforms and teams.
- Serve as an internal resource on financial data, helping business partners understand what is available, how to use it, and how to interpret it correctly.
AI-Enabled Analytics Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of an AI enabled analytics roadmap within FP&A, driving adoption across forecasting, reporting, and insight generation workflows.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities to apply automation and AI tools across multiple process flows, partnering with process owners to ensure initiatives are completed through to measurable outcomes.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of AI and analytics projects, from piloting emerging tools (e.g., Copilot, Datarails AI features) to full-scale integration in collaboration with finance and technology stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary internal champion for AI adoption in finance, building organizational confidence and capability through hands-on guidance, training, and change management support.
- Continuously monitor trends in financial analytics technology and translate them into practical, actionable recommendations that advance the team's analytical maturity.
Reporting Infrastructure & Tools
- Contribute to the design, maintenance, and improvement of Power BI dashboards that surface key financial and operational metrics.
- Work within existing reporting tools and data outputs, building on existing systems for data and systems teams deliver rather than managing the underlying infrastructure.
- Ensure reports are accurate, well governed, and structured to support independent analysis by stakeholders.
- Translate reporting requirements from business partners into scalable, reusable solutions.
What You’ll Bring:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification is a plus.
- 5 or more years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, or a related analytical role.
- Strong understanding of financial performance metrics including ARR, cash flow, and KPI frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for business leaders and Accounting partners.
- Experience building reporting tools and self-service analytics capabilities that enable others to access and use data independently.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and data modeling.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Datarails or similar FP&A planning and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 (D365) or other ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating financial data.
- Experience with AI/ML tools or platforms such as Copilot for Microsoft 365, or Claude.
Essential Functions of the job:
The duties and responsibilities described in this job description are intended to represent the essential functions of the position as defined under applicable federal, state, and local labor laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These functions are the fundamental job duties required for successful performance.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions unless such accommodations impose an undue hardship on the organization.
This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities. Duties may be added, removed, or modified at any time in accordance with business needs and applicable law.
What is good to know:
This is a full-time, exempt position within the Finance department. The role operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and may require occasional flexibility to meet business deadlines. Employment Type: Full Time.
Competencies and Behaviors
- Financial Storytelling: Translates complex financial data into narratives that are accessible and actionable for non-financial audiences.
- Process Innovation: Energized by redesigning legacy processes into scalable, self-service systems that reduce manual effort and increase organizational agility.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds trust and aligns stakeholders across functions to ensure analytics capabilities are embedded into decision-making.
- Humble: The right leaders for Illumia don't need to own the spotlight — they share credit, define success collectively, and are quick to elevate the contributions of others. This is a company that still writes its story. The leaders who thrive here find energy in building something together, not in being recognized as the smartest person in the room.
- Hungry: We are not looking for caretakers. We are looking for leaders who are restless about what's possible, self-motivated to close the gap between where we are today and where we need to be, and who are already thinking about the next opportunity before anyone asks.
- Smart: At Illumia, our leaders must operate across a complex, distributed organization spanning multiple product lines, two legacy cultures, and thousands of customers with competing priorities. Technical skills matter, but the ability to read a room, build trust across functions, and bring people along is what separates a great leader from one who burns the organization out.
This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state wage-and-hour laws.
What you get when you join our team:
- Flexible time off to include paid holidays and volunteer time.
- Robust health, dental, and vision insurance plans on your first day of employment
- Employer-paid life insurance/AD&D/short-term and long-term disability insurance
- Comprehensive employee assistance program (EAP)
- Flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA)
- Matched 401(k)
- Employee stock purchase plan
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.
Illumia is an equal employment opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, gender, age, religion, national origin, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, protected military/veteran status, or any other protected factor.
