Linehaul Driver – Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL)

Are you ready to apply your Transport Logistics skills and knowledge to a role that directly supports Australia’s Defence capability? At Toll Group, we are proud to be expanding our Government and Defence portfolio through the Defence Theatre Logisics (DTL) contract.
We are seeking experienced and professional night shift Linehaul Drivers to support the delivery and distribution of Government & Defence products to customers across Australia in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This role plays a vital part in ensuring operational excellence while supporting personnel in maintaining mandatory training compliance and the knowledge required to safely and effectively perform their duties nationwide.
Based at RAAF Amberley, Queensland, this position offers a diverse and hands-on role where you will not only undertake linehaul driving duties, but also assist warehouse operations with the picking, sorting, staging, and preparation of freight to support customer distribution requirements. The role is seeking a driver to work 6:00pm to 6:00am, handovers usually occur Monday to Thursdays, possible loading of freight and securing of freight. Possibility to drive all the way through to Moorbank
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a high-performing team environment, applying strong operational capability, communication skills, and attention to detail while adhering to all operational procedures, industry regulations, legislative requirements, Defence standards, and contractual obligations.
We are looking for highly skilled and reliable drivers for Full Time Employment, who demonstrate flexibility in working conditions and are willing to undertake evening linehaul operations as required. A strong commitment to safety, professionalism, teamwork, and customer service is essential for success in this role.

How you’ll make the right impact
As a Linehaul Driver, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Defence logistics operations run efficiently and in line with contract expectations and delivered within a Timely Manner to all customers. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
Load and unload products safely and in accordance with customer requirements, company policy and delivery schedules
Carry out daily vehicle inspections, ensuring any issues (potential or current) are raised accordingly and in line with the relevant Toll Group standards and procedures
Comply with all legislated road laws and regulations, including both private and public networks
Conduct all tasks within a customers’ site or in public arena with professionalism
Attend and complete all relevant training as required by both Toll and the customer
Actively participate and attend safety and toolbox meetings
Actively participate in incident investigations
Always operate equipment in a safe manner and within operating processes and procedures
Complete all paperwork required by both Toll and the customer to a high standard including use of Electronic Work Diaries
Report all defects, hazards, near misses and incidents in an efficient manner
Conduct all dealings with honesty and integrity
Ensure high levels of customer service

MC License & Forklift License required

Eligibility to make the grade

Be an Australian Citizen.
Hold a current & valid MC Truck License
Hold a current & valid Forklift License
Supply a 5yrs Demerit Traffic Report from the Road Transport Office
Be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or higher).
Be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including criminal history, medical, and other background assessments.
