Job Description

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for supporting purchasing operations and materials flow to

ensure production schedules are met. This role ensures materials arrive on time, are properly received

and recorded, and that all data is accurately maintained in the ERP system. The materials Coordinator

collaborates with vendors and internal teams, including operations, purchasing, and production, to

support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Monitor the production schedule and track delivery dates for purchased materials using the ERP
  • system (IFS).
  • Communicate with vendors to expedite, adjust, or confirm delivery timelines as needed to support production requirements.
  • Process clerical duties related to purchasing and receiving, including purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
  • Enter and update purchasing data accurately in the ERP system, ensuring records are current and complete.
  • Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation to support accurate materials availability.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to communicate material status, delays, or changes that may impact production schedules.
  • Support the Materials Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects related to materials coordination and supply chain operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required knowledge/Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in materials coordination, purchasing support, inventory control, or a related role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems for purchasing, receiving, and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with purchasing documentation, including purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving records.
  •  Basic understanding of production schedules and how material availability impacts manufacturing operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and schedule changes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Overtime may be required based on production demands, including extended shifts, weekends, or holidays.
  • This role is based on the production floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
