Program Manager Chest Pain
The Program Manager Chest Pain plans, coordinates, evaluates, and promotes the system Chest Pain program under the direction of the Director of Clinical Quality. This role partners closely with Cardiovascular Medical Directors, nursing leaders, and clinical managers to ensure evidence-based care is delivered consistently across all campuses.
Serving as the Chest Pain subject matter expert, this position leads certification and accreditation readiness efforts, synthesizes current research, and summarizes clinical quality initiatives for outcomes reporting. The Program Manager also acts as an internal quality consultant, supporting clinical effectiveness, process improvement, physician peer review, and program management. Through data analysis and observation of care processes, this role identifies system and campus level opportunities for improvement while ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, financial stewardship, and operational priorities.
What You Bring to the Table
Educational Foundation
- Master of Science in Nursing
Professional Experience
- 5 to 7 years of cardiovascular or similar nursing experience
Licenses and Certifications
- South Carolina or Compact State Nursing License
- Board certification in area of clinical expertise

What You Will Lead and Deliver
Program Leadership and Quality Oversight
- Ensures compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards of care
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates leadership and staff meetings related to the Chest Pain program
- Supports development and execution of annual operating goals aligned with organizational strategy
- Demonstrates knowledge of budget preparation, monitoring, and responsible use of resources
- Maintains continuous survey readiness for all Chest Pain related certification and accreditation programs
- Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional growth and leadership development
Education, Communication, and Collaboration
- Develops and monitors plans to improve associate education and competency related to Chest Pain care
- Enhances communication across departments, physicians, associates, and community partners
- Fosters teamwork and resolves conflicts constructively and timely
- Demonstrates appropriate computer-based skills aligned with job responsibilities
Chest Pain Accreditation and Certification Leadership
- Leads development of system protocols and guidelines based on current evidence-based standards
- Develops, implements, and evaluates system level patient education programs
- Ensures compliance with DNV, ACC AHA, and other regulatory and government guidelines
- Participates in quality assurance initiatives at both system and campus levels
- Supports research protocol development and patient and family participation education
- Develops and revises annual staff education to ensure a consistent systemwide approach
- Provides education to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and students as requested
Community Outreach and System Collaboration
- Develops and presents Chest Pain education to marketing, professional, and community groups
- Coordinates community screenings and outreach education initiatives
- Chairs the multidisciplinary Chest Pain governance team
- Collaborates with Chest Pain Coordinators across all campuses to ensure a unified system approach
- Serves as the EMS liaison and develops pre hospital communication protocols
- Partners with medical group clinics and post-acute care teams to support transitions of care
- Ensures risk stratification protocols are implemented and utilized for Chest Pain patient decision making
- Serves as an expert resource on Chest Pain processes across the healthcare system
- Performs additional duties as assigned
