Job Description
Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Lab Lead Support Services functions as department lead to coordinate daily operations of assigned areas in terms of staffing and workflow. The Lab Lead assists with daily scheduling, data collection, inventory, troubleshooting samples and customer issues.
Essential Job Functions
• Coordinates workflow related to all aspects of laboratory support services to include processing, supply distribution, patient registration, and customer service.
• Performs all duties of processors as needed.
• Monitors Lab Information System (LIS) reports and logs for compliance to assure pre-analytical processes are of highest quality.
• Assists leadership with department needs.
• Manages quality assurance documentation of personnel as needed.
• Provides oversight for scheduling and timekeeping.
• Implements policies and procedures as relates to specific area.
• Oversees training and orientation of personnel.
• Maintains standards of accreditation for The Joint Commission (TJC) and The College of American Pathologists (CAP) for specific area.

Education
High School/GED (required)
Associates, Allied Health Sciences, (preferred)
Work Experience
Previous experience in a laboratory setting (required)
Previous experience in leadership position in customer service environment (required)
Working Conditions
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur
May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights
May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids*
May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials*
May have periods of constant interruptions
General office environment
