We're looking for a strategic, creative, and design-obsessed Lead ACD, Experiential to help shape unforgettable experiences that inspire and engage guests and bring the Target brand to life in meaningful ways. In this role, you'll lead the development of immersive concepts and creative solutions across key moments, campaigns, and brand initiatives--translating strategy into experiences that are visually compelling, emotionally resonant, and distinctly Target.
You'll collaborate closely with partners to create experiences that seamlessly connect creative vision with business objectives. From large-scale events to brand activations and experiential environments, you'll guide creative development from concept through execution while inspiring teams and partners to push ideas further.
You'll work alongside internal teams, agency partners, and production experts to bring bold creative thinking to life through spatial design, storytelling, scenic elements, digital experiences, and more. Success in this role requires strong creative instincts, exceptional taste, a passion for culture and design, and a deep understanding of how experiences can create meaningful connections.

What You'll Do
Lead the creative development of experiential concepts and environments from initial idea through execution
Translate business objectives and marketing strategies into engaging experiences that connect with team members, guests, and key audiences
Develop creative solutions across a range of experiential touchpoints, including spatial design, scenic environments, content, digital experiences, presentations, lighting, music, and environmental storytelling
Partner closely with Experiential Planners, Producers, Marketers, and Creative teams to ensure experiences are strategically grounded
Provide creative leadership and direction to internal teams, agencies, production partners, and vendors throughout the creative process
Maintain a high standard of design excellence while delivering clear, actionable, and timely feedback
Balance multiple projects simultaneously while managing timelines, priorities, and budgets
Stay connected to emerging trends in experiential marketing, retail, and culture
Champion creative work that challenges convention and elevates the Target brand
About You
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of relevant professional experience in experiential design / spatial design
Strong portfolio demonstrating a breadth of experiential work, with experience in retail, brand, or B2B environments preferred
Curious, culturally connected, and passionate about design, creativity, retail, and emerging trends
Strategic thinker with the ability to connect creative ideas to business goals
Strong understanding of spatial design, environmental storytelling, and experiential creative development
Collaborative partner who builds strong relationships and inspires others through a clear point of view
Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills
Open to feedback and comfortable providing creative direction to others
Organized with the ability to lead multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours as needed to support activations
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs at our NYC Office. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target NYC location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
