Special Education Teacher/Work Experience Coordinator for PAES Lab

Reports to the Director of Student Services
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team with special education and vocational education staff to provide transition-level services to students with disabilities, ages 15 to 21 years of age.
- Provide instruction in areas related to Job Training and Employment in school-based and /or community-based setting.
- Provide necessary support and supervision in site-based work skills training program (PAES Lab)
- Participate in the evaluations of students with an emphasis on development of appropriate vocational goals, objectives and plans.
- Demonstrate knowledge regarding community-based vocational training programs ( e.g. Hennepin Technical College), and assist students in accessing those programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of community agencies that provide vocational support to adults with disabilities.
- Demonstrate skills in working collaboratively with education- and community-based agencies in development and implementation of plans to address individual student's transition needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- License in one or more areas of Special Education required.
- Work Experience Handicapped (WEH) license preferred.
- Experience in secondary transition service preferred.
