Job Description
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications
REPORTS TO: Creative Director
POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Graphic Designer works individually to support and/or manage production of a wide variety of materials for Space Foundation. General responsibilities include creation, design, production or oversight of graphic driven collateral for digital and physical campaigns. Coordinating with and at the direction of the assigned Marketing Manager or Director of Marketing, this position will be responsible for accomplishing assigned tasks within deadlines, representing Space Foundation products and services consistent with approved brand standards, and providing technical expertise where relevant. This position is expected to participate in activities to support the MARCOM department beyond creation of marketing collateral.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead creative development and brand stewardship across all visual communications.
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, social, events, advertising, and experiential channels.
- Create executive presentations, annual reports, event branding, signage, infographics, and digital assets.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to translate complex ideas into compelling visual narratives.
- Ensure consistency with brand standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Manage production vendors and oversee print, fabrication, and installation quality.
- Mentor junior designers, contractors, or creative contributors when applicable.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining exceptional design quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, fine arts, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of professional graphic design experience
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Advanced PowerPoint and presentation design capabilities
- Experience developing creative campaigns from strategy through execution
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence across print, digital, and brand design
- Preferred: motion graphics, video editing, WordPress, UX/UI, and event marketing experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position involves extended periods of sitting or standing at a workstation and frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment. Occasional movement, including walking, lifting, or carrying items up to 15 pounds, may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is primarily based in an office environment, with access to standard equipment and furnishings. The employee may occasionally be required to participate in offsite meetings or events, including potential travel as needed. The work environment is quiet to moderate in noise level. Space Foundation maintains a hybrid work policy that allows for up to two days of remote work per week, subject to business needs. JOB STATUS
- FLSA Classification: This position is exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act and, as such, an individual in this position is not eligible to receive overtime pay.
- Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40+ hours per week.
- Work Location: This position’s primary worksite is the Space Foundation headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. The position is eligible for up to two work-from-home days per week, aligned with Space Foundation’s current hybrid work policy.
- Regular Schedule: Usual business days are Monday through Friday, holidays excepted, with typical hours from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the time zone in which the position is located.
