Job Description

Job Description The Portfolio Acquisition Executive Mission Systems (PAE-MS) Availability Planning Specialist provides oversight on all aspects of ship availability planning and scheduling. Position directly supports onsite PAE-MS Ship Integration and Test West Coast Waterfront Manager as a liaison during various meetings and conferences, resulting in proposed solutions to positively impact long-term strategic planning.
  • Provide liaison support during PAE MS Ship Integration and Test meetings, providing recommendations to leadership on planning durations, timelines, and feasibility of plans.
  • Conduct research and dissect processes/standard items based off CSPE questions to formulate and propose solutions (lessons learned/best practices concept) and long-term strategic planning.
  • Monitor and manage Navy Message traffic to capture relevant planning, risk assessments, late add requests, RMC Execution Planning Status Reports, avail completion reports, element certifications, planning notices of upcoming events, Advance Change Notices to documentation, Change of Command notices, Avail schedule changes, etc.
  • Provide engineering and technical analysis of planning, prioritization, and scheduling assistance to waterfront senior management for planning of all availabilities.
  • Provide onsite waterfront support at all scheduling and planning events; including but not limited to, A-360 reviews, A-30 Work Package Execution Reviews (WPERs), and other Integrated Project Team Development meetings.
  • Identify and track waterfront planning action items through resolution contributing to process improvements and long-term strategic planning.
  • Perform other tasking, as directed.
This position is located San Diego, CA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to San Diego or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Technical, Business, Computer Science or IT discipline, OR Associate degree and four years of additional work experience OR High School Diploma and six years of additional work experience
  • Working knowledge of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and NAVSEA Standard Item
  • Familiarity with interpreting drawings and tech manuals to conduct research
  • Knowledge of availability processes and procedures and various tech manuals
  • Working knowledge of Navy ship change planning and reporting processes
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational and problem solving skills


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $82779 - $140723

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
