The Opportunity:
As the Events Coordinator, you will plan, arrange, and coordinate facility and logistical support for the Compton Union Building. You will respond to and process complex scheduling requests for University Scheduling, including those from student groups, WSU departments, and off-campus entities, while ensuring compliance with all university, department, and approved usage policies. In this role, you will maintain scheduling operations and supervise event setup staff for all event spaces within the Compton Union Building, helping to ensure successful event execution and exceptional customer service. You will also assist in the development and enhancement of scheduling software and web services to maximize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,738 to $4,980 | Range 41 | Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible work experience involving public contact such as secretarial, sales promotion, setting up conferences, public information, or in the hospitality industry; OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience with event coordinating, planning, scheduling, risk management or related field.
Previous experience with event coordinating, planning, scheduling or risk management.
Experience working with event scheduling software.
Demonstrated commitment/work experience in customer service.
Word processing and computer experience.
