ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understand fundamentals and have the ability to perform one of the following job functions:
Braze, Deburr, Part marking, Masking for shot peen or machining Inspection using visual or dimensional techniques.
Re-contour using belt sand and blending
Application of braze alloys Chemical stripping Aqueous cleaning
BASIC FUNDAMENTALS FOR ALL FUNCTIONS:
Adhere to plant rules and safety requirements.
Documenting travelers after operations performed.
Follow lean manufacturing and 5S + 1 principles.
Understand turbine component features and the various names of the feature.
General department housekeeping
Maintain production standards/quality.
Dryhone/gritblast components in enclosed booth and blow out internal cavities of parts with air.
Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment.
Regular attendance and punctuality
Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards
Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Masking:
Understand masking requirements documented in the work instructions
Apply appropriate material to mask required part features
Remove material, post-process, and inspect for errors
Inspection:
Understanding of inspection requirements as outlined in the traveler
Visually inspect parts for defects, coating, and other quality related issues
Utilize simple tools and gages to dimensionally inspect parts (part features) for correct size
Blending:
Notching and routing cracks, removing details, polishing Belt sanding and blending components to original contours using stationary and hand-held tools
Removing plasma overspray, excess weld, and braze
Brazing:
Careful inspection of part features in need of braze material
Apply braze alloy and stop-off using a syringe, pre-sintered pre-form, or braze shim
Chemical stripping:
Prepare parts to be chemical stripped using dry honing, waxing, and other surface preparation
Immerse parts in chemicals for the required times to assure coating material is removed
Post-strip dry honing and heat tint process to assure coating is removed
Aqueous cleaning:
Operate cleaning equipment in efficient manner to assure parts complete required process
Inspect to assure parts were adequately cleaned
MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (performed occasionally or at irregular intervals) for this position are:
Assisting in locating and moving parts in the shop EDM/Machining/Resistance tack welding/part marking/cleaning as needed.
Provide training to coworkers as needed.
Basic maintenance on the equipment.
Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
Ability to pass reading test.
Previous light and medium industrial experience preferred.
Must have the ability to be proficient in one of the Essential Job Functions outlined in this Job Description.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Manual dexterity and good vision.
Ability to follow written and oral directions and instructions.
Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and/or work in-process documents.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with Basic mathematical concepts
Ability to apply concepts such as, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of:
Microsoft Office software programs.
