JOB TITLE: Host/Hostess
REPORTS TO: Restaurant Managers
SUPERVISES: NA
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant, notify staff of new tables, maintaining a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Personable greeting of guests as they arrive and depart, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu and offer chair assistance.
- Receive, record, and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
- Must be able to deal with high volume situations and buss tables as business demands.
- Knowledge of restaurant menus and promotions.
- Organizes and stocks menus at host area and ensures menus are accurate and defect free.
- Must be familiar with Open Table.
- Maintain an open line of communication between guests, management and line associates.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walk or stand for carrying lengths or time, sometimes for extended periods of time of 6+ hours.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 35 pounds.

Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be familiar with Open Table.
- Knowledge of restaurant and hotel operations.
- Must be able to guide guests to different areas of the property.
- Ability to speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays as required.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Prior position within a restaurant in a hospitality environment preferred.

SALARY:
$25.92 - $27.92
