About the Role
Join us as a Retail Specialist – Account Executive where you’ll play a key role in supporting our team and driving operational excellence. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values collaboration, and is eager to grow professionally. The Retail Specialist – Account Executive is responsible for driving retail equipment sales within a defined area of responsibility by actively engaging prospective customers and walk-in traffic at TEL’s assigned retail location. The Retail Specialist will leverage in-depth knowledge of TEL’s products and focus on identifying and converting leads into sales opportunities while delivering exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate for the Retail Specialist – Account Executive role is a motivated and customer-focused sales professional with a strong understanding of the trucking industry and a proven ability to convert leads into sales through exceptional communication and negotiation skills. They are highly organized, tech-savvy (especially with Salesforce and Microsoft Office), and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment where they can build relationships and drive revenue. With a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning, they consistently deliver outstanding customer service while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of TEL’s products and services, effectively communicating their value to customers by highlighting how TEL’s offerings enhance profitability and cash flow.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify, qualify, and nurture leads, assisting in the conversion of qualified prospects into successful sales opportunities.
- Utilize Salesforce and other software tools efficiently to ensure thorough, accurate, and detailed documentation of customer interactions and sales activities.
- Drive sales performance by achieving established sales targets within the designated Area of Responsibility (AOR), with a primary focus on retail truck and trailer sales.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned prospects, providing timely and professional assistance to address inquiries and sales-related needs.
- Respond directly to customer inquiries or coordinate with internal departments to deliver superior customer service and support.
- Proactively address and resolve customer concerns in a prompt and effective manner to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
- Conduct market research to gather intelligence on competitors within the assigned AOR, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance TEL’s competitive advantage.
- Stay informed on industry developments, including market trends and potential disruptions, to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
- EPerform additional tasks and projects as assigned by management to support business objectives.
- EComply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to maintain operational excellence and integrity.
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance the effectiveness of providing world-class service and support.
- Comprehensive knowledge of TEL’s Fleet Leasing products and services.
- Energetic, motivated, and goal-driven with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and communication skills, with the ability to identify common objections and effectively apply sales techniques to overcome them.
- Strong mathematical proficiency, including the ability to calculate percentages, lease rates, and other financial metrics.
- Effective problem-solving skills to address and resolve customer concerns and needs.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse customer types.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating customer data and identifying opportunities.
- Collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset, committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Open to coaching and continuous learning to develop new skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong negotiation skills to drive successful sales outcomes.
- In-depth understanding of trucking company operations and industry dynamics.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in “Business Management” or applicable business field or combination of equivalent experience and education.
- Two or more years of experience in B2B sales in the transportation industry.
- Proven track record of progressive responsibility in previous roles.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platform.
