Position Summary This position serves as a subject matter expert on accessibility and accommodations coordination, including leadership, development, and advisement of University policies, procedures, operations, programs, and training for compliance in accordance with federal and state disability laws, including Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended Duties Responsibilities Five years of experience with program development, training and/or providing consultative services related to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion and/or accommodations and advocacy for adults with disabilities, preferably in a higher education setting Experience/relationship with disability advocacy organizations preferred Required knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as amended and other related ADA and accessibility standards and guidelines The candidate must have knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as amended and other related ADA and accessibility standards and guidelines. Knowledge of Illinois Information Technology Act (IITAA), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) is preferred Excellent communications skills, particularly the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to both experts and non-experts, as evidenced by experience developing and conducting training to diverse audiences using a variety of methods Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills Experience working in and leading teams Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a higher education setting
