Job Summary
St. Gabriel the Archangel is seeking a responsible and energetic Summer Camp Aide to support the daily operations of the parish summer camp program. This role assists camp staff in providing a safe, engaging, and faith-filled environment for children, helping to facilitate activities, supervise campers, and ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the supervision and care of campers throughout the day
- Support the implementation of daily camp activities, including games, crafts, and group events
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all children
- Set up and clean up activity areas, supplies, and equipment
- Provide support to lead counselors and staff as needed
- Monitor camper behavior and report any concerns to supervisors
- Assist with transitions, snack time, and outdoor activities
- Promote teamwork, respect, and positive interactions among campers
- Uphold camp rules, policies, and safety procedures at all times
Job Qualifications
- High school student or graduate preferred
- Experience working with children in a camp, school, or childcare setting preferred
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the camp day
- Commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for children
- Must complete all Archdiocesan requirements, including background check and safe environment training (if applicable)
