Job Description
The Setup Technician II is responsible for supporting all aspects of the injection molding process, including mold setup, equipment operation, and workflow coordination for both production and sample molds. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mold setup and tear-down for production and sample molds
Install, remove, and replace waterlines; perform routine water filter cleaning
Conduct proper line clearance, moisture analysis, and tolerance monitoring
Set up hot runner systems, picker/end-of-arm tooling, and trimmer/chop dies
Maintain press cleanliness, including platen cleaning, preventive maintenance (PM), and housekeeping before, during, and after tasks
Handle work orders, raw materials, and perform basic mold lubrication (leader pins, side locks)
Perform ice blasting as required
Execute press start-up, restart, and shutdown procedures
Apply sound judgment and critical thinking to support efficient operations and resolve issues
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards to maintain a safe and productive environment
Train and support new or less experienced technicians
Perform additional duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities
May provide work direction, guidance, and on-the-job training to others

Education & Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in injection mold setup and removal
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Working knowledge of injection molding machines, processes, and industry terminology
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Familiarity with general manufacturing practices and workflows
Experience with basic hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
