Platform & Technology Lead, Japan & Korea Cross-Border Business

Role Summary

Japan and Korea are eBay’s core cross-border seller markets. Seller growth relies on digital tools, automation, AI adoption, plus end-to-end seller logistics optimization.

This role owns the digital transformation, AI enablement and logistics improvement roadmap for JP & KR sellers. You will identify seller pain points, deliver tech-driven solutions, boost tool adoption, and advocate local seller demands in global product & tech roadmaps.

We seek a business-focused tech leader who unites seller growth, digitalization, AI efficiency, cross-border logistics and global product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Seller Digital Transformation

Drive the regional digital transformation strategy. Pinpoint opportunities to lift seller productivity, inventory, listing, shipping and marketplace expansion via digital tools. Build scalable adoption plans and rank projects by business value, seller readiness and logistics performance.

2. AI Enablement for Sellers & Internal Teams

Launch AI tools to streamline listing, operations, shipping and seller decision-making. Identify AI use cases to cut manual work, collaborate with cross-functional teams to roll out pilots, and align internal stakeholders on AI risks & compliant usage.

3. Translate Local Seller Needs into Global Product Priorities

Collect feedback from sellers, account management, operations and logistics teams. Turn digital, AI and logistics pain points into clear product requirements. Represent JP/KR seller demands to global product, engineering and shipping teams to shape global roadmaps with data-backed business insights.

4. Scale Cross-Border Selling & Logistics Tools

Drive adoption of seller digital tools and integrated logistics solutions covering listing, inventory, translation, compliance and shipping cost optimization. Create training playbooks and pilot programs to help sellers leverage tools for sustainable growth.

5. Optimize Internal Operations

Upgrade internal workflows via automation, AI and standardized logistics processes. Deliver actionable insights to sales & account teams, build feedback loops between local business and global tech teams, and track adoption, logistics efficiency and project business impact.

6. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Alignment

Partner with sales, operations, support, logistics, legal and Korea business teams. Align all parties on priorities, logistics KPIs and delivery timelines, and translate complex tech/logistics topics into simple business narratives.

7. Team Leadership

Lead the JP/KR Product & Digital Transformation team, with full ownership of seller logistics workstreams. Set clear priorities and logistics KPIs, foster a culture of commercial ownership, logistics optimization and data-driven experimentation, and coach team members to bridge seller needs and tech solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Background in Product Management, Tech Program Management, Digital Transformation, Cross-Border E-commerce or cross-border seller logistics.
  • Deep knowledge of how digital, automation, AI and logistics systems improve seller performance.
  • Proven cross-team collaboration across product, engineering, operations and logistics departments.
  • Strong analytical skills, stakeholder influence and matrix organization management capabilities.
  • Fluent English & Japanese; Korean language is a plus.
  • Experience supporting merchants, SMBs or logistics service providers preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cross-border marketplace seller tools, global logistics or AI business transformation.
  • Track record of digital adoption & logistics process optimization programs.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, automation, data pipelines and cross-border shipping systems.
  • Experience influencing global product roadmaps and working across Japan & Korea markets.

  • 1. Higher adoption rates of digital, AI and integrated logistics tools among JP/KR sellers;
  • Improved seller productivity, listing quality and cross-border shipping performance;
  • Local seller digital & logistics requirements fully embedded into global product roadmaps;
  • Successful launch and scaled rollout of digital & logistics optimization pilots;
  • More efficient internal workflows via AI, automation and standardized logistics processes;
  • High satisfaction from frontline business teams on tech and logistics support;
  • A high-performing regional product & transformation team delivering measurable commercial outcomes.
