Job Description
Job Summary:
The Associate - Construction Planner will support the Construction Management Team in developing and managing project schedules, allocates resources, and ensures construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify detailed project activities, scope responsibilities, and major milestones of the project;
Internal planning for timely commencement of construction activities and allocation of resources;
Proactively plan and identify resources for construction activities for smooth execution of the project;
Prepare detailed (Level 3) schedules for critical site construction activities for close monitoring;
Evaluate dependencies and sequences of the construction activities;
Interface with a large range of stakeholders for a high level of planning;
Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the creation of WBS with the use of a project management system to monitor the status of all construction activities up to the closure of the project;
Monitor actual work progress with respect to the planned project schedule;
Proactively identify issues that might lead to slippage in schedule and contractual milestones, timely escalation of issues of slippages and delays to higher management, and suggest corrective actions;
Prepare catch-up plans for delayed activities to expedite progress, aiming to meet the final milestone of the project;
Critical path identification and reporting;
Simulate scenarios based on events, issues, and risks;
Perform project progress–related reporting to the team on a regular basis (including progress S-curves, critical path, delay analysis if needed) and management review on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure the project is on track with respect to final milestones;
Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work;
Attend project meetings and discussions with the project team and external parties;
Provide tender-stage schedule support for solar projects and identification of other construction contractors;
Update and maintain regional cost and performance reports in Anaplan, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely submission;
Review and evaluate the completeness, accuracy, and contractual compliance of payment milestones, and coordinate closely with the Contract Management and Commercial Teams for certification and processing of payments;
Monitor, control, and report budget, forecast, and actual costs related to payment milestones under Service Agreements and EPC Contracts, ensuring alignment with approved cost baselines;
Strong focus on quality and safety; and
Assist with other duties that may be assigned.
Pre-requisites:
BS Civil Engineering
Licensed Civil Engineer
Excellent interpersonal skills to work a team, as well as verbal and written communication skills in English
More than 2 years’ experience in power plants, substation and transmission line construction.
Proficiency with computer planning software (i.e Primavera, MS Project, etc.)
Experience on planning infrastructure projects
EPC or OE experience on solar project is a plus
Willing to be relocated on site
