Controls Engineer (39599)

Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Responsible for the technical support of PLC based hardware and software, installation, troubleshooting, and training.

 

• Operate computer systems
• Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans
• Discuss designs or plans with clients
• Maintain electronic equipment
• Prepare operational and development reports
• Investigate system, equipment, or product failures
• Estimate technical or resource requirements for development or production projects
• Program PLCs according to customer functional specifications
• Troubleshoot and debug PLC programs
• Program HMIs according to customer specifications
• Travel 70-80% to visit customer sites

• Technical Degree
• 3-5 years’ experience in the field or in related area
• Familiar with industrial equipment
• 3-5 years’ experience programming PLCs and HMIs

• Preferred Qualifications: 

  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Experience with packaging equipment
• 3-5 years’ experience programming Allen-Bradley and Siemens
