The US Marketing organization partners with Franklin Templeton’s distribution teams and is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and communications designed to drive asset growth, deepen engagement and retain client relationships.
We are seeking a Senior Retirement & Insurance Client Marketing Manager, responsible for supporting the development and execution of marketing strategies for Franklin Templeton’s US Retirement, Insurance and 529 business. This role partners closely with sales, strategic accounts and marketing stakeholders to deliver integrated campaigns, support key initiatives, and strengthen relationships with insurance and retirement distribution partners.
The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker with a digital-first and resource-conscious mindset. They should be experienced in developing and executing marketing programs, collaborating across functions, and leveraging data and insights to optimize outcomes. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment, manages multiple priorities effectively, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes and results.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and executing a strategic marketing plan
Partner closely with the Head of Retirement, Insurance and 529 Marketing and business stakeholders to support the development and execution of marketing strategies aligned with business priorities.
Execute integrated marketing programs across multiple channels, including content, email, web, multimedia, events, sponsorships and promotional campaigns.
Develop marketing initiatives designed to build awareness and engagement for Franklin Templeton investment strategies and solutions within the marketplace.
Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations based on results, market trends and business objectives.
Help manage project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure efficient and effective delivery of marketing programs.
A focus on collaboration across organization
Support key marketing initiatives that advance the strategic priorities of the business.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales, strategic accounts, product marketing, content, digital marketing and compliance teams.
Establish and maintain relationships with marketing and sales contacts at partner firms to identify opportunities for custom engagement and joint marketing efforts.
Collaborate with sales and strategic account teams to develop relevant messaging, content and resources that support client engagement and business growth.
Provide guidance and training on available marketing tools and resources, helping teams maximize their effectiveness in the field.
New mandate/product launch support
Partner with sales, strategic accounts, investment teams and partner firms to support successful product launches and mandate implementations.
Coordinate the development and execution of launch plans, ensuring key stakeholders are equipped with appropriate materials, messaging and resources.
Gather and share insights from launch activities and promotional efforts to inform future campaigns and product support strategies.
Support ongoing post-launch engagement efforts and identify opportunities to enhance adoption and effectiveness.
Campaign and content development and deployment
Develop and execute product-focused and thematic marketing campaigns aligned with business priorities.
Utilize a data-driven approach to campaign planning, measurement and optimization, sharing actionable insights with business partners.
Identify opportunities to engage target audiences through marketing-led programs, lead-nurturing initiatives and strategic content development.
Manage marketing projects through established planning and briefing processes, ensuring clear objectives, stakeholder alignment and measurable outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams to deliver integrated go-to-market strategies efficiently and effectively.
Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
7–10 years of experience in financial services marketing, sales or a related field.
Experience supporting insurance, retirement, subadvisory or institutional investment businesses preferred.
Understanding of financial markets, investment products and economic concepts.
Series 7 and 63 preferred.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative problem solver with a strategic perspective and strong attention to detail.
Digital-first mindset with experience leveraging modern marketing channels and technologies.
Strong collaborator who builds effective partnerships across teams and functions.
Self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to anticipate business needs.
Willingness to challenge existing approaches constructively and contribute innovative ideas.
Work Schedule & Location
This role works a hybrid schedule out of our Boston, MA, St Petersburg, FL or Rancho Cordova, CA office.
