Role Description:

This role designs and applies the data governance framework to ensure that data handling aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR. Providing broad Finance subject matter expertise in process areas such as, PTP, RTR, OTC, HTR. The role managers a team of Data governance & quality leads to improve the integrity of data between systems and improve the accuracy and quality of data available to the business. By defining accountability and protection standards, this role minimises risk, cost, and cultivates a data-driven culture.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Governance Framework & Strategy

• Accountable for the creation and maintenance of policies, standards, and processes for managing data throughout its lifecycle.

• Define who is accountable for specific data assets and establish protocols for how data should be accessed, used, and protected.

• Develop and manage governance initiatives to improve process and data quality.

• Ensure the governance framework aligns with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR) to minimize the risk of data misuse, breaches, and non-compliance.

• Manage a team of Data Governance & Quality leads to deliver the agreed framework.

• Lead a community of practice to embed the data governance framework & strategy.

Data Quality & Integrity

• Design, measure, and improve data quality standards across the organisation.

• Ensure the integrity of data between systems and improve the accuracy and quality of data available to stakeholders.

• Enable performance tracking by providing tools to measure whether data is delivering value as expected.

• Identify data improvement initiatives and prioritise delivery by working closely with data owners.

Business Partnering & Operational Support

• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on the management of data used within specific end-to-end processes (e.g., PTP, RTR, OTC, HTR, Property).

• Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to improve the efficiency and value of processes by ensuring the right data is available at the right time without errors.

• Establish trust by providing confidence that data is reliable and transparently managed, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Culture & Education

• Cultivate a data-driven culture through the delivery of training, reporting, and education initiatives.

• Support business and projects by providing specialised data SME knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or related roles.
  • Proven experience with data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP and other data management tools or platforms.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with data owners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead data quality improvement initiatives and implement governance strategies.
  • Experience in mentoring, providing performance feedback, and fostering a data-driven culture.
