Job Description
M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate highly automated injection molding facilities where safety, quality, and process optimization are critical to meeting production goals and customer expectations.
The Process Technician Apprentice works under the guidance of experienced Process Technicians to develop the skills and knowledge required to operate, troubleshoot, and optimize injection molding machines and processes. This role supports machine startup, cycle time adjustments, mold and material changeovers, and quality verification activities. Over time, the apprentice will develop the expertise necessary to become a fully qualified Process Technician capable of independently managing molding operations.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Record production data, create setup sheets, and maintain change logs
Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S principles
Learn and apply processing techniques for different grades of plastics to produce quality parts
Assist Process Technicians with mold changes
Assist in developing samples for new molds and materials
Assist with color and material changeovers
Perform first-piece inspections of finished parts following changeovers
Operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes as required
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of the injection molding process
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to perform basic arithmetic
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required
Experience with injection molding processes preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Forklift Certification required
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and handle 45–55 pounds
Exceptional hand-eye coordination
Ability to perform work from standing or sitting positions as required
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
