This role is in Governance and Business Services (GBS) and is part of 1st Line within the Multifamily Division at Freddie Mac in McLean, VA. GBS leads the division in managing operational risk, in compliance with the Corporate Enterprise Risk Management framework.
As Business Resiliency Risk & Controls Senior in GBS, you will support Multifamily Process Owners in managing operational resiliency risk facing their processes using an integrated approach for operational risk frameworks and in collaboration with the 2nd line, 3rd line and other business lines counterparts. You will get the opportunity to assess business impacts due to disruption, perform business continuity planning, design and execute business resiliency testing, and perform other operational resiliency risk management activities. This role will also present you a great opportunity to learn about our Multifamily business. The responsibilities of this role are time-sensitive and have a high-level of visibility within Multifamily and across the company.

Our Impact:
- Our team drives effective management of operational resiliency risk within the Multifamily division, in line with the corporate policies and standards, by proactively identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on resiliency risk, engaging with business areas, and serving as trusted risk advisors.
- We minimize the impact of business disruptions by executing comprehensive resiliency strategies—including testing, continuity planning, crisis management, and governance—while strengthening operational continuity through strong partnerships, process optimization, and sound risk management practices.
Your Impact:
As an integral part of our high-performance team, you will proactively assist the team in managing operational resiliency risk. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with business areas to understand, identify, analyze and document the potential impacts of business resiliency risks within their processes.
- Prepare, conduct, and document business continuity plans for assigned business areas, ensuring compliance and readiness.
- Design and develop business resiliency tests; partner with business areas to execute these tests, analyze results, and document lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the team in meeting management metrics, reporting, and corporate risk framework requirements.
- Provide information and support to business stakeholders regarding resiliency best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related work experience, such as in Risk Management, Internal Audit and/or External Audit
- Experience in Business Resiliency, Crisis or Emergency Management preferred
- Familiar with Business Continuity Planning, Testing or Operational Risk Management concepts
- ABCP or CBCP certification is preferred
- Effective project management, communication, and presentation skills to work effectively with various levels of leadership
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint skills

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $96,000 - $144,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
