Toll Group provides a unique environment for tax professionals to gain broad exposure across a diverse portfolio of businesses with varying operational models, levels of maturity and financial profiles. Team members are encouraged to take ownership beyond core responsibilities — identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance outcomes and contribute tangible value to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing matters across a portfolio of global business units operating in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment.

  • Oversee annual and quarterly tax reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in line with relevant accounting and regulatory standards.

  • Provide tax advisory to business units, maintaining and enhancing the tax risk management framework to support informed decision-making.

  • Ensure all corporate income tax and transfer pricing obligations are met across the portfolio, with a focus on compliance and efficiency.

  • Manage and resolve tax authority audits and investigations effectively across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Advise on transactional tax matters, including structuring, funding, repatriation strategies, and commercial initiatives.

  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, assessing implications and ensuring compliance across the Group.

  • Drive process optimisation and transformation initiatives, including automation, standardisation, and improved reporting for statutory, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements (e.g., CbCR, Pillar Two).

  • Oversee transfer pricing frameworks, including documentation and cross-border arrangements.

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to manage tax risks and opportunities.

  • Support the General Manager – Tax in stakeholder engagement and project delivery across global tax initiatives.

Requirements

Experience & Knowledge

  • 8 - 12 years’ relevant tax experience, gained in professional services and/or a multinational corporate environment.

  • Strong expertise in direct tax, international tax, and transfer pricing.

  • Proven experience managing global tax audits and investigations.

  • Solid understanding of international tax frameworks, including structuring, funding, repatriation, and cross-border considerations.

  • Hands-on experience in tax reporting (IAS 12).

  • Exposure to process improvement, automation, and standardisation initiatives in tax functions.

  • Experience in indirect tax is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), Pillar Two, and CFC rules is desirable.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional and multi-jurisdictional initiatives.

  • High level of commercial acumen, with the ability to balance tax risk and business objectives.

  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across diverse teams and seniority levels.

  • Proven ability to work independently, proactively, and with sound judgment in identifying and addressing tax risks and opportunities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; additional experience with tax technology solutions is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.

  • Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CTA, or equivalent.
