What You'll Do

 

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day Human Resources operations for corporate office locations and remote employees. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employees and leaders and acts as a trusted HR partner across a broad range of functions, including HR administration, employee relations, auditing, onboarding, benefits, and HR systems and processes.

 

Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Generalist, this role provides direct support to employees and leaders, collaborates closely with Payroll and Benefits teams, and helps coordinate HR programs and events. This position requires strong organizational skills, a high attention to detail, and a proactive, customer-service-oriented approach.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Administer and support day-to-day Human Resources operations in a corporate/office environment
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR questions, policies, and processes, providing timely and solutions-oriented support
  • Perform regular HR audits (e.g., employee files, onboarding documentation, data integrity, compliance checks) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems and personnel files
  • Support HR data entry, reporting, and ongoing data validation to ensure integrity across systems (e.g., Workday)
  • Coordinate HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
  • Partner with HR Systems, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure consistent and compliant HR service delivery
  • Assist with recruiting coordination, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding logistics
  • Support employee relations activities by gathering information, documenting notes, and assisting with follow-up actions as appropriate
  • Coordinate and support HR programs, initiatives, and employee events (e.g., engagement activities, training sessions, communications)
  • Provide guidance to employees and leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Promote consistent application of HR policies and positive employee relations across office and remote populations
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities
  • Perform other duties assigned that support the overall success of the team, department, or organization. This may include participating in cross-functional initiatives, contributing to process improvements, or assisting with special projects as needed.

Education/Experience/Qualifications/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience in a corporate office-based HR environment preferred
  • Experience with HR audits, data management, and compliance processes strongly preferred
  • Experience coordinating HR programs or events is a plus
  • Professional HR certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of HR systems (e.g., Workday) and reporting tools

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • This position is performed in an office environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer and performing administrative tasks
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling paperwork, and operating standard office equipment
  • Ability to move throughout plant environments, including standing, walking, bending, and navigating production areas during site visits
  • Ability to view computer screens and printed materials for extended periods with accuracy
  • Occasional lifting and carrying materials or files weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Regular, predictable, in-person attendance on the business days the Company requires in-person attendance at this facility.  (In-person attendance is optional on the other workdays.)  For non-required-in-person attendance days, employees are expected to be present and engaged during the designated work hours for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary range is $65,900 - $92,400 per year
  • This is an exempt position and is not eligible to receive overtime pay 
    • Note: Compensation is based on several factors and may vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
  • This role is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Bonus
  • A full range of medical, dental, vision, 401K plus up-to-four percent (4%) match, profit sharing, wellness program, paid parental leave, long-term-care insurance, critical accident insurance, short- and long-term disability and education assistance are also available

 

 

Work Schedule & Location

This is a hybrid position based in Schaumburg, IL.
