Job Description
Approaching $150M in assets, TruPartner Credit Union, located in Cincinnati, OH is currently in search of a proven closer for our consumer loans. Reporting directly to the VP of Lending, this individual serves as the final quality control checkpoint, notary, and closing officer for our four Cincinnati branch locations. This mobile role travels as needed between branches to take over the lending pipeline from front-line Member Service Representatives (MSRs) after loans have been approved and are ready for closing. The primary objective is to review loan applications, eliminate documentation omissions, serve as a legal Ohio Notary, and execute error-free loan closings before funds are disbursed to members.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for in-person closings of consumer loans
- Pre-Closing Quality Audit: Reviews consumer loan files initiated by MSRs prior to signing, actively catching and correcting missing fields, unverified income, or formatting errors.
- Close Loans: Travels between four Cincinnati branch locations to conduct in-person loan signings and support front-line branch teams. Delivers documents to main office.
- On-Site Notarization: Acts as an official Ohio Notary Public to legally execute vehicle liens, second mortgages, and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC) documents across all branches.
- Flawless Execution: Walks credit union members through complex consumer lending forms, obtains exact signatures, and eliminates trailing document omissions.
- Lien Perfection: Hands off loans directly to Loan Collateral Specialist for vehicle title applications and county recordings to guarantee the credit union's perfect lien status.
- Internal Coaching: Partners diplomatically with MSRs, providing constructive feedback on file quality to reduce repetitive errors.
- Document Retention: Ensures loans are scanned and archived to allow for easy retrieval in the credit union's imaging system.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Assists Loan Collateral Specialist with lien filings and releases. Serves as backup in their absence.
- Works with the Lending Operations Manager to maximize efficiencies in the lending process. Helps to optimize the functionality of the loan origination system.
- Maintains loan files - both electronic and paper.
- Organizes member account and loan records and keeps the file room up-to-date.
- Assists with record retention projects to ensure efficient audits and compliance.
- Stays informed of changes in collection, collateral and record retention policies, procedures, and related legal requirements.
Performs Other duties as assigned
- Assists and backs up other lending personnel with related administrative duties.

Experience Required:
- 1-3 years in banking, credit union operations, title companies, or consumer loan processing (prior experience as a loan officer or closer is highly preferred).
- Previous hands-on experience with processing loan collateral.
- Previous experience handling lending-related insurance products.
Skills & Abilities
- The "Audit" Mindset: Strong attention to detail with an exceptional knack for spotting data discrepancies, omissions, and missing signatures.
- Mathematical Competency: High degree of mathematical competency to calculate corrections or changes and verify stated income with paystubs or tax returns.
- Communication & Discretion: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrates the discretion to handle sensitive member interactions professionally and empathetically.
- Time Management & Initiative: High level of initiative and a strong work ethic. Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity while moving between branches.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to independently resolve documentation issues before loan funding.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in related computer software applications and other business equipment. (Note: Specific training on our internal systems-including Symitar, loan origination platforms, and imaging-will be provided).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- 100% in-office requirement; not available as a remote position
- Fast-paced environment driven by monthly funding goals and strict legal timelines.
- Requires daily local travel between branches using a personal or credit union-supplied vehicle (Mileage reimbursed at the standard IRS rate for personal use)
- Must be able to carry a credit union-issued laptop, and notary kit between branch offices.
