Job Description

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $17.25 to $22.50 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
 

The Impact You Can Make

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to aid our patients by escorting them throughout the hospital grounds. You will be helping the organization function well by transporting medical records and materials to various stakeholders and departments in the hospital. Taken together, your work will have a profound impact on providing not only an excellent experience to our patients, but also for the various other team members throughout the organization! 

 

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

 

  • To Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed…with or without special equipment. To accompany ambulatory patients in a safe and efficient manner.

  • To maintain and change oxygen and gauges on a daily basis.

  • To transport specimens, O.R. schedules and other items with a 20-40 minute turnaround time. To compile all appropriate statistics on a daily basis.

  • To stock, clean and upkeep equipment needed for patient transport.

  • To compile statistics on a daily basis.

  • Carry patient articles from one unit to another due to transfers.

  • Directing patients/visitors to their destinations.

  • Maintain clean, orderly and safe work environment.

  • Provide instruction to New Vision Students.

  • Responsible for the ongoing repair and maintenance of the Department wheelchairs and stretchers.

  • Train new employees.

  • Assist the Director of Distribution as needed.

 

What You Bring (Qualifications)

 

  • Education/Experience: Minimum of high school diploma or GED required

  • Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent positive communication skills & customer service

    • Able to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

    • Able to learn & use computers and printers to utilize clerical skills

    • Able to recognize and select correct course of action in all segments of transportation

    • Basic math and reading skills
