UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Director for Ambulatory OB/GYN, Neuromodulation, and Vascular Procedures.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Full time / 100% FTE
- Primarily day shifts Monday-Friday, with additional hours as needed
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Associate Director will lead a subset of UW Medicine’s ambulatory service lines, including our Women’s Health, Reproductive Care, and OB/GYN Clinics with the addition of some procedural units.
- Our teams consist of 120+ staff across 4 locations.
- The Associate Director has a span of responsibility across UW Medical Center-Montlake/Roosevelt, UW Medical Center-Northwest, and Harborview, including all union contracts and different hospital cultures.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership, oversight, and coordination for a diverse mix of specialty services and procedural units
- Oversees operational, financial, and quality functions
- Develops strategic goals, financial planning, policy, and procedures to effectively lead our services lines
- Drives staff engagement and patient experience outcomes, while ensuring efficient, high-quality care delivery
- Partners closely with physicians, section heads, and medical leadership across specialties to coordinate care processes, optimize patient flow, and improve patient access
- Directly oversees 6 Department Managers and provides indirect supervision for Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Patient Services Specialists, and Patient Care Coordinators
- Develops and implements effective monitoring tools to ensure performance objectives, standards of care, and all regulatory and compliance requirements
- Fosters a work environment that supports professional growth, exceptional patient care, and service excellence
- Works across multiple hospital domains, work cultures, and union contracts
- Maintains current knowledge of local and national trends in ambulatory specialty care
- Holds responsibility for operational and capital budget management
REQUIREMENTS
- 6-8 years of ambulatory leadership or direct hospital patient care leadership
- Experience with data analysis (proficiency with Excel)
- Ability to draft communications and presentations to senior healthcare leaders (proficiency with PowerPoint)
- Bachelor's Degree within healthcare or business
- Working knowledge of HLD and clinic workflows is preferred, but not required
- Master's Degree in business leadership or healthcare leadership is preferred, but not required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
