What we offer:

Group Summary:

Wage Range: $26.00 to $29.00 per hour

• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of theories and principals used in mould polishing, injection moulding process, and various other specialized moulding processes
• Support and adhere to timeline estimates and job plans for polishing and  build
• Ensure all mould components under their direct control are available and accounted for
• Must verify that customer specifications and company standards are met during the performance of task(s)
• Willing and able to support at mould try-outs and repairs independently
• Must document all discussions with customers including instructions, etc.; Collect or pass on information to the customer with or without management, on or off site.
• Participate in benchmarking new tooling and equipment and provide accurate, timely feedback
• Ensure that all tooling and extra stock items are returned to the proper location immediately after use
• When Team Leader is unavailable:
  • Support the efficient use of manpower on all shifts and maintain consistent 2nd & 3rd shift manpower
  • Ensure time tickets are prepared properly (job numbers, codes, hours) and in a timely manner
  • Ensure all information (welding forms, etc.) get to all departments or Production Administrator in a timely manner to meet deadlines and milestone dates
• Utilize the Non-conformance Process to provide accurate, detailed documentation of all issues, non-conformances or constraints that cause rework or tool delay
• Communicate and work with Build Crews and other departments on a regular basis
• Estimate polishing hours for estimator
• Check for contour finishing work with Machining department
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members
• Cross-train in other departments/sub-departments to enhance skillsets, provide scheduling flexibility and support Tycos’ overall sustainability
• Travel for training and investigational purposes
• Adhere to applicable quality systems and Support the total Tycos Management System (MAFACT, WCM, ISO-9001)
• Participate in and support Continuous Improvement and WCM initiatives
• Perform all other duties as required

Education:

• Minimum completion of Grade 12 diploma
• College diploma in a Trade or Technical Field or equivalent, an asset

Experience

• Previous mould polishing experience in the automotive industry

Skills:

• Good Microsoft Office (Outlook. Excel, TEAMS) skills and NX ; Advanced skills are an asset
• Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Bench and polish within a small tolerance range (in some areas less than .001” deviation)
• Ability to bench in detail including areas that have been welded
• Strong knowledge of hand tools (i.e. super hand, right angle, pencil grinder, disc grinders, Dipro Filer, Turbo Lapper)
• Basic understanding of mould making theories and principles
• Demonstrate the safe handling and flipping of mould components with crane and lifting devices
• Able to identify uneven or irregular surfaces and correct them
• Ability to check for gaps between matched components and cavity; also check for movement of matched component when placed in position on the cavity
• Must demonstrate the ability to determine when a surface has been brought to a consistent surface finish (grit) before continuing with a finer grit
• Must demonstrate ability to polish up to a Diamond finish
• May be required to work varied shifts on a long term basis
• Customer demands may require additional hours of work
• Able to obtain a Crane and Forklift license
