Description:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, Corporate Accounting, this role is responsible for corporately managed, multi-entity and multi-site location business lines and functions. The broader accounting team is organized by business unit (e.g., Hotels, Restaurants, Resorts, etc.), and this role plays a key role in supporting centralized corporate activities.
Responsibilities
Lead full cycle accounting responsibilities ensuring accurate and timely results are provided to the business
Prepare periodic financial updates and various other reports
Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements
Liaise with operations management on accounting issues
Responsible for complex balance sheet reconciliations
Manage CAPEX accounting across multiple projects and initiatives
Support the preparation of external bank reporting
Manage property taxes and insurance for all divisions and brands
Support payroll accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll entries and reconciliations
Assist with treasury accounting functions including cash management, bank reconciliations, and liquidity reporting
Maintain effective internal controls, identify risks and propose recommendations for required control changes as necessary
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, prioritizing automation where possible.
Build great working relationships with the business to promote synergies
Support the annual external financial statement audits and tax filing requirements
Perform other accounting duties as required
Role Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
CPA designation, or equivalent (preferred)
3 – 5 years of relevant industry experience and/or public practice accounting experience
Experience in full-cycle accounting role with a strong working knowledge of GAAP
Strong financial analysis skills and independent problem solving
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to have fun and be a great team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and ERP systems (Experience with Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations, Power BI & Planful would be considered an asset)
