Position Title: Social Services Coordinator                    Reports To: Director of Social Services
              Job Status: Full-Time / Exempt                                    Direct Reports: Social Services Team, Practicums
 
Description of this role:  Responsible for providing support and guidance to the Social Services Team.  This includes the managing, planning and completion of activities related to the monitoring, documenting, and reporting of the social services team, initiatives, and programs.
 
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities - includes the following and other related duties may be assigned.
  • Review and possess a working knowledge of the Social Services department and programs.
  • Prepare reports for team and agency meetings, funders, and programs.
  • Manage the day-to-day duties, communication, and documentation of the Social Services team.
  • On-going case management including maintaining contact with graduates for 1 year after graduation.
  • Completes a social assessment and individualized plan for self-sufficiency and responsible fatherhood.
  • Assist with developing and/or facilitate support groups, staff trainings and in-service education.
  • Assist with facilitation of Social Services and Case Management meetings. Travel to multiple locations.
  • Assist with coordinating events, selection of topics, programs, and outside speakers, as necessary.
  • Utilize community resources and social support systems, to assist the team in aiding clients with reaching their goal of self-sufficiency.
  • Tracks clients’ group activities: fields calls and answers questions about FFSC.
  • Completes drug screening, police, and abuse records check.
  • Develops and maintains network of community resources and social support systems as necessary to assist individuals and their children/families to move to self-sufficiency.
  • Observes parent/child interactions and processes child abuse/neglect applications as needed.
  • Attend all staff, department, and community meetings as it relates to social services.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be culturally competent in working with men who need maximum direction regarding responsible fatherhood issues.
  • Ability to empathize with clients and have a desire to work to meet FFSC’s goals and mission.
  • Must be able to successfully manage a team, be team oriented, multitask, and work independently.
  • Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics
  • Must be able to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Suite and be able to organize and present information to audiences.
 
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • BSW or B.S. in Human Services or related required. MSW preferred; and 3+ years’ experience.
  • Must have experience in working with at-risk populations and prior work with group facilitation, individual and family counseling.
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year
