Position Summary
The Financial Crimes Compliance ("FCC") Analyst – Operations supports the Bank's financial crimes compliance program through watchlist screening, transaction monitoring, investigations, suspicious activity reporting, and law enforcement request management. The role also supports oversight of Strategic Partner FCC activities by reviewing and challenging controls, identifying and escalating risks, and helping ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Bank policies, and risk management standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform watchlist screening activities, including FinCEN Section 314(a), sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEP), adverse media, and other risk-based screening requirements.
- Review and reconcile watchlist screening, sanctions screening, and related FCC records received from Strategic Partners to identify material deviations, control gaps, and data quality issues.
- Review transaction monitoring alerts, unusual activity referrals, and customer activity to identify unusual activity and financial crime risks.
- Conduct investigations and prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with regulatory requirements and Bank standards.
- Review and challenge Strategic Partner FCC controls, investigations, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity escalation processes.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of Strategic Partner FCC activities, including investigations, alert dispositions, customer due diligence reviews, sanctions reviews, and SAR decisioning.
- Respond to subpoenas, law enforcement requests, regulatory inquiries, and other information requests.
- Support Strategic Partner due diligence and ongoing monitoring through review of FCC controls, risk assessments, reporting, and performance metrics.
- Identify, assess, and escalate emerging financial crime risks, unusual activity trends, control weaknesses, and compliance concerns.
- Maintain FCC records, case files, tracking mechanisms, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in FCC projects, process improvements, system enhancements, and other initiatives that strengthen the Bank's financial crimes compliance program.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, Strategic Partners, auditors, regulators, vendors, and law enforcement agencies.
- Remain current on applicable BSA/AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud, and sponsor bank regulatory developments and emerging financial crime typologies.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
