Job Summary:
Ensure the timely delivery of food and supplies to Covington, Dolwick, Hospice, surgery center locations, warehouse, SETEC and other locations as needed. Accurately assemble transfer requisitions from two Edgewood New Day Cafes, Grant Co., Edgewood Physician Lounge, Chef Table and cook stations.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Description:
- Assemble: Collect food, supplies, carts, and paperwork needed for each delivery. Package food to maintain product integrity and safety. Check that products are properly labeled, dated, and have a usable shelf life when delivered.
- Deliver: Transport items safely between the kitchen and dock using carts, pallet jack or tug. Load and unload vehicle in timely and organized manner to support safety of the load, equipment, meet food safety guidelines and prevent spills. Maintain delivery schedules of transported food and supplies.
- Inventory: Adequate and timely ordering of food and supplies for the Nutrition Department. Receive, date, store and rotate food and supplies using the first in- first out (FIFO) method. Process invoices and receipts promptly for accounts payable purposes. Report any damaged or missing items to vendor(s) for replacement or credit.
- Safety: Practice safe driving techniques to maintain vehicle life and safe delivery. Maintain quality control and food safety during loading and transport of meals.
- Quality: Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participate in performance improvement (PI) studies; assist with data collection and supports action plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and write, understand written and verbal instructions
- Certification as a Food Service Manager by the Northern Kentucky District Health Department within six (6) months of employment / promotion or Serv Safe Certified
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Insurable
Specialized Knowledge:
- HACCP Principles and Foodservice Food Code
- Load and operate transport van with liftgate
- Identify food products and quality
Kind and Length of Experience:
- Six (6) month experience in foodservice preparation and/or food stores
