Redpath is a leading global mining contractor with over 60 years of experience delivering safe, innovative and reliable underground mining solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team at the Dugald River Project near Cloncurry, Queensland.
About the Role
The Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordination and engineering of site projects from concept through to completion. This role plays a key part in supporting safe and productive mining operations through effective project delivery, stakeholder engagement, quality assurance, cost control and performance reporting.
The successful candidate will build and maintain strong client relationships by accurately monitoring project progress, providing technical support and ensuring timely communication on project status, risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and deliver site projects and improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, production targets and operational objectives.
Provide engineering support, technical expertise and quality assurance to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with specifications and statutory requirements.
Champion safety leadership through workplace inspections, risk management activities, hazard identification and implementation of corrective actions.
Manage project quality, environmental and compliance requirements, including project records, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), site inspections and non-conformance processes.
Monitor project performance and prepare accurate production, cost and KPI reporting, including forecasts, claims and monthly financial reporting.
Coordinate subcontractors, hired plant, temporary works and project resources to support operational continuity and successful project delivery.
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, providing regular project updates, supporting Management of Change processes and acting as the Project Manager's delegate when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Degree qualifications in Mining, Civil, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline.
Previous experience in a Project Engineer role within underground mining, mining services, civil construction or heavy industry.
Strong project planning, scheduling and reporting capabilities.
Sound understanding of contract management, quality systems and risk management principles.
Experience managing project costs, forecasts and KPI reporting.
Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
