Summary:
DMC is currently looking for an Intermediate Designer, Mechanical to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Vaughan, ON. The Intermediate Designer, Mechanical for designing and drafting mechanical systems for heavy industry and mining projects.
Responsibilities:
• Design and layout of mechanical/process equipment, including: conveyor systems, hoists, mechanical assembly drawing using 3D and 2D tools.
• Proficiency in reading technical documentation – reviewing shop/manufacturing drawings.
• Preparation of technical documentation using AutoCAD.
• Production of technical documentation (2D drawings) based on previously prepared models.
• Prepare and review drawings and designs to ensure standards of quality and accuracy are met.
• Work and collaborate with other discipline teams.
• Work in conjunction with engineers.
• Create CAD drawings as per project/client requirements.
• Coordinate with all disciplines on requirements for assigned area.
• Desire to expand knowledge in the field of mining solutions.
Qualifications:
• A technical college graduation with two (2) to four (4) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of studies and related experience.
• Mining / Heavy industrial Experience (Asset)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Working knowledge of the Revit environment
• Working knowledge of Database Driven CAD.
• Working knowledge of the SolidWorks environment.
• Familiarity with standards for creating technical documentation.
• Proactive approach. Independence.
• Able to write technical documents and specifications.
• Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of Engineering standards, codes, regulations and guidelines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to solve unconventional problems, curiosity in designing solutions.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Plus all other duties assigned.
Additional Information:
• Salary Range is expected to be between $79,000 to $101,000 + short-term incentive plan bonus
• Comprehensive benefits and retirement plan.
